Our focus is music.

We think that music is the purest form of art, because it can hit you directly, without any rationalization. We think of music not as an industry but as a form of art and culture, that therefore must be free for everyone (then, if a musician's worthy, one should support him, not his label).
We want to spread the word about bands and musicians that see music as an art more than a chore. People that try to innovate or that simply put their heart in what they do.

First of all, we suggest our followers to sign in to last.fm to find out more bands similar to the ones they already listen to.
Here're ours:

Second point: we don't think of genre categorization as an absolute. It's useful (and we use it) to give an idea, but, especially if the music is not one-sided and monodirectional, as good music should be, it's just an approximation and it's not meant to represent the whole of somebody's artistic production. For the same reason, we think that it's stupid to hate a whole genre a priori, but we believe that every artist worth of this name works his own way and should be judged individually.

Third, if anyone has a band or a musician that he wants us to create a link about, just contact us through the /ask or the /request page.

Kustin’s lame 2011 list

Note: This list was originally meant to be submitted for the Last.fm journal but since a few of my colleagues posted their lists here in this merry IEH blog, I’ve decided to put mine up here as well.

So… with another year wrapped up and tons of new songs I’ve experienced, I could say that this was a real good round! For memory’s and for fun’s sake, I’ve listed down a good amount of progressive metal/rock albums and also things sticking outside (sic) that’s been released this year. The anticipation value indicated in some albums depict how much expectations I’ve had for the albums before their release, as well as ratings ending in one of two types whether I might change my mind about later or confirmed.
Ratings do differ between persons, so they represent the way I relate with the albums, not how the albums perform objectively. You’re free to check out any of them.
Have fun reading!
